Valle de Bravo
A small town at the shore of Lake Avandaro, 95 miles west of Mexico city.It is a beautiful place known as "The Mexican Switzerland" or "Mexico's best kept secret".
Things to do in Valle de Bravo
Paragliding - Gliding through the air using parachutes.
There are a few offices in Valle de Bravo that offer this great experience. It's not cheap at all, I did it for 140 USD, but it's worth it! it includes a 30 minute drive with a truck up the hill, a brief explanation with the instructor (few of then even speak basic English) and at least 20 minutes in mid air, above the beautiful lake and town.
Water skiing - For about 40 USD per hour you can rent a speed boat and enjoy this fun sport.
Don't worry about the gear, the boat driver will give you all that you need, including some basic skiing tips.
Art Market - Don't miss the great artist's market. It is fairly big, and you can find here many nice and low cost souvenirs.
Butterfly forest - About half way between Mexico city and Valle de Bravo, there is a spot in the forest with millions of Butterflies. You can stop at the side of the read and walk along it, even go into the forest a little. This phenomenon of so many Butterflies all around you is amazing.
